Richard has been heavily engaged in climate action for many years. Working from the realization that decarbonizing a city needs to be tackled one parcel at a time, Richard has focused his efforts on helping disinvested communities to build climate resilience at the local level, and engaging in the fractious, truculent process of land use decision-making. As Executive Director of NGO startup Green Convener, Richard identifies local projects for natural habitat redevelopment, and secures funding. Richard enjoys the range of talent and perspective represented in the USGBC-LA community, and contributes on both the Urban Landscape Committee and the Legacy Project.
