Description

Quality urban landscapes have historically been seen as only aesthetic beautification projects for wealthy neighborhoods in LA.  Over the last half century, we have learned that quality, sustainable and resilient open space is not just a means to increase property value but is just as an important infrastructure element for the health and well-being of Southern Californians as a new road or water pipeline.  Current and historical systematic inequities toward certain Southern California communities have created the greatest need for green infrastructure in these communities. The Urban Landscape Committee of USGBC-LA will describe our resource kit that will help communities help themselves by helping to guide them through the complex process of funding, planning and, eventually, building open spaces.
