As successful as LEED has been, the effects of climate change have outpaced that success requiring the modern green building movement. Nature is the only model that is regenerative and Nature-based solutions (NbS) will be key to the health of humans in the time of climate change.

Using examples and case studies, this panel will take a deep dive on how nature effects human health and look at the most pressing issues like water quality and scarcity, heat island effect, and the loss of biodiversity.  We will also review the status of site-related credits in LEED and look at other Nature-based systems including SITES, Envision and Biomimicry.
