Climate policy, funding, technology, and business solutions are helping homeowners install rooftop solar, batteries, and make decarbonization upgrades. But the opportunity for improved comfort, health, and lower utility bills is not accessible to low-income and underserved communities. This session shares the experience of local nonprofits working to understand what is needed to achieve an equitable and just energy transition. Panelist will share challenges, insights and ideas for scalable solutions around community outreach and engagement, the electrification of existing single-family residential buildings, and influencing and supporting policy and regulation that accelerates a clean energy transition for everyone. Presenters will identify key resources and funding that can catalyze an equitable energy transition.
