Gary Lai will be giving a brief session that will put in context the science of carbon sequestration described in the morning sessions of the Nature-based Solution track with the case studies in the afternoon. He will talk about aspirational concepts and goals in increasing open space in our urban environments and present the real-world example of Earvin "Magic" Johnson Park in South Los Angeles which opened in 2021.
